Discord - Chat, Talk & Hangout App Reviews

Best VoIP service out there, devs always working on updates, very informative on whats next. Learned about them at PAX Prime 2015, talked with them a bit and Ive been promoting them ever since and Ive switched a whole competitive community to discord because I loved the guys I talked to I stayed active with them on Facebook and voted as often as I could on the forums. However my actions were unnoticed, I still enjoyed their services for free VoIP. The only reason I give 4 stars is because I tried to reach out to the discord guys just to talk and see how theyve been since I last saw them and I showed up with my shirt swag I earned and tried to talk with them, but a lot of their staff must have been new, and all seem to be busy on their phones on discord or something. So I tried saying hi to a few of the guys this year at pax. They just asked if I had any questions, I told them I just wanted to talk and hang out. They said ok and started talking to other people. Im already socially awkward and I did so much. I even made vids to promote them. Just makes me feel sad. I just wanted to get to know the staff. I still love the VoIP but I dont think I will be as active in promoting them. And I hope its just because they are growing and are busy. Just dont forget the little guy. And maybe you might re earn a 5 star rating from me.

This app is almost as complete as the desktop version.

When I choose my channel and the voice chat room that I want to talk in. The app auto crashes. When I try to reopen the app. It auto crashes. When I delete the app and reinstall it. It auto crashes once I try to select and enter the channels voice chat room again. It wont stop crashing. Please help. iPhone 7.1.2 - it says that my phone should work. Will 5 star if it stops crashing because I like discord on my comp.

My experiences with this app have been great. No lag with messages and the voice/chat is easy to use. Would like a sideways keyboard for messages but otherwise fantastic!

I like the way it seamlessly works with Discord on my PC.

Really enjoying moving my group to a modern chat service but there are some things that are really annoying the group. -/giphy does not seem to work. -Users are not well notified when there are messages. Initial pop up but no persistent notification. -Discord does not see all my photos in my camera roll. Even when I redownload the file from iCloud. Not sure how it figured out which photos to show. -No support for pasting images. But the chat service its self as well as the voice service have been great.

I like the wide variety of people and being able to create my own server with those people

This is a really great app to use for gaming since you can have many conversations going at once and its all really well organized. The best part is your phone doesnt explode when a lot of people are talking at once like if you would do it all over text. But the only problem I have with it is that its really hard to find things in it. Like its a real piece of work to find and add friends, but then its even HARDER to find a server and join it. Just wish the creator of a server could add people to the server instead of sending them a link to have them figure it all out.

If you can find a way to get your friends to use Discord, it works great. However, I found that to be a struggle, and so I was the only one in my group to use it. That being said, the app works great, and its definitely worth using. 10/10 -IGN

Legit app. No issues on my end.

This application has just about every feature a person could want in a multi-system chat program: texting, voice, chat-rooms, interapp connectivity, seamless handoff, browser compatibility, and more. The interface is clean and smooth, easy to navigate, and convenient, with full iPad integration. If youre looking for a progressive alternative to previous apps with similar features, Id recommend checking this one out for yourself.

It does everything it promises, however every once in a while it crashes. You just have to start it up again, and youre good to go.

Discord is an amazing app, it doesnt even interfere for when you game online or wanting to chat with someone. My only complaint is that, sometimes the app closes by itself from time to time, although its not a major thing. But its a tad annoying, other than that, call quality is top notch.

Simple and efficient. Please, add the iOS share option. To share things directly to Discord.

My group of friends and I formed a steam group chat and weve been using steam group chat for over 5 years. We were thrilled when the Steam mobile app came out, but to this day, theres *still* no group chat integration! So naturally, we became increasingly impatient waiting on the Steam mobile app to integrate group chatting...and along came Discord. Discord not only solved that problem, but they did us one better—actually more like 5+ better! Being able to use the following (just to name a few) over the Discord mobile app has been a godsend for our group: ✔️Group chat ✔️Voice chat ✔️Get pinged/push notifications when someone puts an "@" in front of your name in the chat ✔️Separate text & voice chat rooms, by topic (you can have many separate group chat & voice chat "rooms," all within the same primary group, each labeled by customizable topic; "General," "Dark Souls III spoilers," etc. This really helps keep conversations organized, and this is particularly useful when considering the following) ✔️Persistent chat logs (scroll up forever! Everythings saved! Never worry about missing out on the conversation due to conflicting schedules/different timezones, and its super convenient when having topics separated by their own individual group chat & voice chat rooms) ✔️Image & video embedding (by posting a link as well as by directly uploading your own) And many more! TL;DR Discord is great on desktop, and its made even better with this mobile app. This app can do everything the desktop version can do, and works seamlessly in real time across the platforms. Five stars!

Best features would be the free servers and the massive configuration options for them. Its a wonderful service. The whole thing is 100% free and 100% worth your time.
